The Hosepipe Band was formed in 1993 and is an English ceilidh (or barn dance) band which plays traditional and composed material. Rhythmic and melodic, the band's sound combines British and European influences. The band plays at dance venues, folk clubs and festivals and for the normal round of private functions. For the last three years The Hosepipe Band has played the New Year's Eve ceilidh at Cecil Sharp House. The Hosepipe Band have made five recordings, the most recent being Kettleburgh Fete - a collection of tracks for dancing to. Our line-up includes mandola, melodeon, bass, drums and wind in the form of recorder, flute and bagpipes.
